Currently reading: China Inc. by Ted C. Fishman Currently feeling: nationalistic China Rising...the Dragon has awakened! The "Made in China" label is almost on almost every consumer product. The quest now is to find something that is NOT made in China. The Beijing Olympics' host country earned the most gold medals with 51. And of course the spectacularly unforgettable Opening Ceremony. According to NBC's Bob Costas, "...an Opening Ceremony that exceeded all superlatives!" The 3rd Mummy movie is about Chinese mummies. The fascination with China is flooding into popular culture. Sidenote: It was nice to see Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh battle it out on screen for the first time in over 15 years! Be it for shopping, sports, movies, and beyond, the word "China" is omnipresent, especially in the States, and by extension, Canada. I am officially migrated to my new desk, situated at the marketing department, next to Penny and facing Grace. There are a few banes and boons of the new place. Pros 1. No Zee gegarkan my seat 2. Bigger desk that made it easy for me to bersile or duduk dgn selekeh without goyangkan Zim's monitor 3. More area for me to put stuff 4. Easier to talk to Grace and Penny about contest write ups or features 5. Easier to talk to Kak Mai about sinema stuff 6. Can see who's coming and going Cons 1. No Zee gegarkan my seat (I have a love-hate relationship with Zee gegarkan my seat. I am not fond of it, but it made me awake) 2. Grey table. Ugh I hate the color. It is soooo.... staff-like. Very serious and bland... and prone to look messier when it's messy (I've been a brown-desker since day 1) 3. Cannot humm songs with Wahi, Ria and Zim again. Will not have LOL moments when Wahi made irrational jokes about kings and Indonesia I just put lots of Pros than cons just to make it... (more)
